11 And he went into Jerusalem to the temple, and after[a] looking around at everything, because[b] the hour was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

A Barren Fig Tree Cursed

12 And on the next day as[c] they were departing from Bethany, he was hungry. 13 And when he[d] saw from a distance a fig tree that had leaves, he went to see if perhaps he would find anything on it. And when he[e] came up to it he found nothing except leaves, because it was not the season for figs.
